How Islam brought Slavery - A look at the facts

From A history of the colonization of Africa by Alien Races Sir Johnson (1899)

"Negro Slaves were taken into Egypt as servants. A few may have reached Rome, but the determined exploitation of the black races did not begin until the Mohammedan conquest of Africa. The Arabs had swept across Nothern Africa and began directly acquainted with Sudan.""So the slave trade developed mightily in the Mohammedan world."

"Household slaves were imported into North Africa, Arabia, Turkey and Persia from Sudan, while the Sultan of Morocco imported slaves from NIGERIA. Arabia, Persia, and India obtained slaves from Egyptian Sudan,  Abyssinia, and the Zanzibar coast."

"Into the west coast slaves were imported to be guards of palaces and the fighting seamen of navies."

Where did the British, Spanish and Portuguese get slaves from?

"At first the slaves came chiefly from the Gambia and other rivers southward to Sierra Leone, also from the Congo and the Portuguese possessions of Angola and the Zambezi, but as the demand grew they were taken from the Bights of Biafra and Benin, which is known as Niger Delta today."

"The Portuguese first came to Old Calabar River and Delta State after a falling out with the Oba of Benin in the 17th and 18th Century. The rivers were known as OIL RIVERS because they produced the best quality palm oil. Later on in 1840 Niger Delta was so important the British appointed a council."

"The Oil Rivers Protectorate was drawn up in 1887 and its boundaries were the River Benue and to the shores of Lake Chad by the British and German".

The Igbos Fought for their oil and land

"Ja-ja, a slave from Ibo Country, who was a trader servant and counselor to the chiefs. He had risen to such a position of wealth and influence that he had armed a large force of fighting men and a flotilla of war canoes and made himself the most powerful chief in Niger Delta".

"As Ja-ja went to great lengths to oppose the trade between the British and the natives, he was then taken to the Gold Coast to be tried before a commissioner. As a result of the trial, he was deported and sentenced to five years banishment in the West Indies. He did not live to return to his country".

How the King of Lagos was a slave trader

"The colony of Lagos came into existence in 1863 It was afterward added to the Government of The West African Settlements. In the days of the Early Portuguese Lagos was partly under the influence of Dahome, partly under the rule of Benin, and the Portuguese and British came there to buy slaves."

"The British Government came into contact with the King (Oba) of Lagos Kosoko who had become of the truculent slave traders on the coast"

"In 1851 the Oba and his cousin were placed on the throne after having made a treaty with the British to end the slave trade, but neither the Oba or his cousin kept his promise. In 1861, The Oba gave Lagos to the British for a £1000 a year pension which he drew for 24 more years until his death".

How the slaves were not "sold"- A look at accounts from that time

Taken From A history of the Colonisation of Africa by Alien Races by Sir Henry Johnson

"The Negro, more than any other human type has been marked out by his physical and mental characteristics as the servants of other races, There are exceptions to these rule Tribes like Kruboys, Mandingoes, Zulus, who have always shown themselves to be resilient to slavery, they are generally left alone."

He then goes further to say...

"But the negro, in General, is a born slave. He is possessed of great physical strength, docility, cheerfulness of disposition, a short memory for cruelties, and an easily aroused gratitude for the kindness and just dealing. He does not suffer from homesickness to the overbearing extent that afflicts OTHER PEOPLE TORN FROM THEIR HOMES and provided he is well fed, he is easily made happy. Above all, he can toil hard in the hot sun, and in the unhealthy climates of the torrid zone.

So you see they were not "sold" they were taken from their homes by slave raiding armies. The slave raiding armies were run by the Fulah(Fulani) and the slaves were sold at markets in Europe or America they were never "sold" by their brothers or sisters as some would have you believe.

Don't just take my word for it...look for yourself

Are African American Native Indigenous Aborigines?- A look at the Facts

In these series of posts, I will be debunking some lies about the History of Our People, my research is not to discriminate in any way it's just to present the facts that have been hidden.

I love history and I see many posts about how history should not be hidden so I have decided to educate myself and others out there by my research into our Nigerian History.

In this post try to examine if it is correct to say slave trade when it relates to Africa, Negroland, Soudan, Ethiopia, Nigritia and Guinea as the area was then known as. We look at how the slaves were acquired to see if such activities could be classified as a trade.

Having found this site https://imjustheretomakeyouthink.com/2016/12/23/new-dna-evidence-proves-african-americans-are-in-fact-native-indigenous-aborigines/

I am here to debunk the fact that Africans that are indigenous aborigines... let's have a look at some resources to back up the claim.

In the book Furey, F. T (1906) New and Complete History of the World (page 249)
It shows a picture of Columbus and underneath it states
'Early on the morning of November 12, 1492, Christopher Columbus discovered western land from the deck of his ship, Santa Maria. It proved to be one of the Bahamas Islands, but its identity has not yet been established.

In the Threshold of History Chapter Page 20/21, it goes on to state that 'The Races of Mankind are reduced to three chief races- The Whites, The Yellow, and The Black. Though all had a common origin the Whites on the Plateau of Iran, where it spread to India, northwestern Asia and Europe, and the Semantic And Hamitic White in southwest Asia and northwestern Africa. The Yellow or Turanian or Mongolian in Northern Asia, China and the Malay Peninsula and the Black in Africa and Australia.
The Redskins in America seem to be of Mongolian Origin.'

Now remember before 1492

  • Negro Slavery had started in Europe and Asia
  • It does not make sense that while they were capturing Negros for sale in Europe and Asia, they were then "shipping" Indians to Europe than to Africa.
  • The Negros were shipped and used as Burden so why would they then be shipping Indians to Europe and then to Africa

Also, remember that the slaves had their God (Chukwu) Native Americans have a totally different belief system if truly they were Indigenous Surely some of their traditions would be intertwined but they are not at all.

Please remember to always do your research and look into accounts of the slaves at that time, it will give you more insight into what was going on at that time.
